I was hungry and you gave me food
Matthew 25 :35
About Us
Poverty exists in Montreal. Montreal has one of the highest urban poverty levels in Canada. Individuals, children, seniors, single-moms - thousands of people every week - must resort to the city's food banks and community kitchens in order to meet their most basic needs.
Homelessness and poverty are not just a question of money. The most underprivileged are often disadvantaged in many ways. Those who are lacking food are all too often equally deprived of affection, friendship, and direction and meaning in their lives. The purpose of the Mission is to help and meet all these important needs. Since 1990 we are a non-profit humanitarian organization located in the Pointe Saint Charles area of Montreal, offering hot meals, a food bank, a community store.
Team
Wayne Taillon is the founder of the Mission. Wayne is coming from the chemical industry background. He and few friends started feeding homeless of Montreal in city parks, and in July 1990 the Mission was incorporated.
David joined the Mission in 2007. Since then he learned all aspects of work in the Mission. David is responsible for Mission's kitchen: food preparation and staff.
Most of work in the Mission is done by our dedicated volunteers. We won't be able to do all the work without these people moved by compassion and love. Join our Team of volunteers today.
