I was hungry and you gave me food

What we do

Families plagued by unemployment, single-parent families with few resources, children, homeless people, teenagers in the street, elderly people – since 1990 we are there to feed them and help them improve their lot in life.

  • We provide food, clothing, furniture, household appliances, toys, and other goods to the underprivileged.

  • We contribute toward meeting the physical, spiritual, educational and social needs of the underprivileged.

  • We work in cooperation with other organizations who share similar goals.

Hot Meals on the street

Since 1990 the main goal of the Mission remains the same providing poor and needy of Montreal with hot meals.  Poor and needy come from differnet walks of life: homeless, distressed, older people without family, destitutes of every kind.  Every time number of people being fed on the street varies between 300 and 400.

We provide full course hot meals twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays at the Place Émilie-Gamelin.  All food is prepared at the mission from quality products by our qualified staff.  Food includes hot meal, desert and a drink.

Saturday Lunch

Saturday lunch is our long lasting tradition.  Saturday noon poor and needy of Montreal come to the Mission for a full course meal.  A number of people coming for Saturday lunch varies between 100 and 200.  All meals are prepared by our volunteers and sponsor groups, mainly from Montreal churches, only from quality products. People gather in advance, take a seat and socialize.   There are visitors coming to the Mission for years, some of them volunteer and help to serve food and cleanup the place.

Drop-In Centre & Emergency Food Bank

We are open for emergency and immediate assistance Monday to Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. We use every opportunity to meet and interact with those in need, evaluate their situation and provide all that is needed.  In extreme cases, we help families who are in need of food, and we have quite a few of them.  They can come to the Mission and we will provide with all what is available through a difficult period.

Community Store
